First annual 'Military Appreciation Game'

On September 25th, Louisburg College will face Palmetto Prep Minutemen. This will also be the first annual 'Military Appreciation Game' in which the Minutemen will wear special military themed jerseys and sell them after the game. The proceeds will go to veterans organization, Palmetto State Base Camp.


Louisburg College was founded in the 1800's and is the oldest two-year coeducational college in the United states. It is located in Louisburg, North Carolina  They are led by Head Coach Trevor Highsmith The Minutemen are led by Head Coach Wes Dorton. This will be the second meeting between the two teams as they played against each other in Columbia in 2013 when the team was still 'Gray Military Academy'. Louisburg won that game 48-12. They were scheduled to play last season in Louisburg, NC but the flooding in Columbia created an unsafe travel environment.
